In 1999, literary theorist, Edward W. Said, and renowned conductor and pianist, Daniel Barenboim founded the West-Eastern Divan Orchestra. Through music, they brought together people from Israel, Palestine and other Arab Nations - people who often only interacted through the prism of war. Within the organization, music is a shared language that allows diverse and divided people to have an open dialogue. Since the orchestra began, it's purpose has been questioned, it's vision has been critique and its musicians have overcome political hurdles in order to perform. To create greater clarity, reach a global audience and garner greater support, The Divan collaborated with Simple.Honest.Work. to create a new visual identity, brand strategy and site experience.
